This was our second visit to St. Maarten and second time at Maho Beach. We had a difficult time trying to arrange a taxi as it was just the two of us. We started asking around and found 8 other people who also wanted to go there. We ended up sharing a taxi with a guy who was working on the Oasis supervising the entertainers. He was flying home to New York, so we dropped him off at the airport. The other couple were our age and they were on the Oasis. We hung out with them for the day at the bar and beach watching the planes land and take off. We didn't bring our suits as we hadn't planned to swim, but we ended up going in the water in our clothes anyway. I was in the water when one of the big planes took off. I will never do that again as I ended up with sand up my nose from the jet blast and kept having to duck under the water to try and avoid it. We had a blast and would love to stay on the island and hang out there for a week.
